The 7th China-South Asia Expo, held in Kunming, Yunnan province in southwest China, has clinched over 300 investment projects estimated worth around 412 billion RMB, according to a press conference held by Yunnan province on August 20.
The expo, held from August 16 to 20, notched up project deals worth 2.2 percent more than it did last year.
Focusing on trade and investment, technology transfer and production capacity cooperation, and cultural exchanges, it showcased local agricultural products such as avocado and coffee; it also offered a platform for products from other participating countries, such as black tea from Sri Lanka, which was marketed through live-streaming e-commerce channels.
The ambassadors of some of these countries, such as Pakistan and Nepal, also promoted their products through media outlets.
Over 1,000 companies exhibited and sold their products through cloud platforms, realizing a sales volume of 229 million RMB. The expo also hosted 120 live-streaming e-commerce rooms, realizing cumulative sales of around 210 million RMB.
As part of the expo, the 4th Forum on China-Asia Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation displayed 187 projects in areas like modern agriculture, biotechnology, new and renewable energy, and new materials.
Since it was first held in 2013, the expo has enhanced and diversified areas of cooperation, promoting a more comprehensive range of communication, exchanges and cooperation between China and South Asia, and even beyond.
