| Mid-Autumn Festival Tea Party for Expats in Tianjin On September 14, the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau held a "China Day" event and Mid-Autumn Festival tea party for foreign experts. More than 40 foreign experts from nine countries took part. During the tea party, the guests learned how to make traditional mooncakes and were treated to a variety of delicious Chinese cuisine. The organizers also introduced the Mid-Autumn festival customs, organized a lucky draw, held competitions where prizes were awarded and many other activities. The event received positive feedback from all attendees as it helped to enrich foreign experts' experiences of living in China. (Please see photo on the right.) | Ningxia Foreign Experts Celebrate Moon Festival On September 11, the Department of Science and Technology of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region held an event for foreign experts to celebrate the Mid-autumn Festival. 50 foreign experts and their family members from 20 countries attended the event. They learnt about Chinese traditions through various activities, such as mooncake making, food tasting and group games. By attending a series of activities, experts said they had a better understanding of Ningxia and got to feel more integrated with their surroundings. (Please see photo on the left.) | Diverse Festival Activities in Guangxi On September 11, the Department of Science and Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region organized an event for foreign experts to experience Chinese culture in celebration of the Mid-autumn Festival, which falls on September 21 this year. Twenty foreign experts and their families from 12 countries attended the event. The organizers introduced the history, origin, myths, legends and customs of the Festival to the group. Through various activities, they explored traditional Chinese customs, such as paper lantern making and traditional Chinese food tasting, including the essential mooncakes, enjoying the opportunity to celebrate the holiday with friends and colleagues.
