On November 26, the second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) opened in Beijing, bringing together international business leaders. The exhibition is a platform to foster collaboration and investment across various industries and is the first of its kind worldwide.
Under the theme "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," this year's CISCE highlights the importance of interconnectedness within the supply chain ecosystem. It showcases key processes from upstream to downstream, emphasizing the role of innovation and cooperation in overcoming global challenges.
The expo's area has been expanded to 120,000 square meters from last year's 100,000 square meters, with over 600 companies and institutions participating.
"The CISCE builds bridges for industrial integration, innovation promotion, and market connectivity among countries," said Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. He called for more businesses worldwide to join hands to build a secure, efficient, open, and mutually beneficial global industrial and supply chain system.
This year's expo boasts several notable advancements. The level of international participation has increased, with exhibitors from 69 countries, regions and international organizations, including 78 Fortune Global 500 and 86 China Fortune 500 companies. The proportion of foreign participants has risen from 26 percent to 32 percent, indicating a growing interest in cross-border collaboration.
The enhanced interaction and cooperation is exemplified by Hungary, the guest country of honor, partnering with Hubei province to host joint activities. Additionally, leading enterprises from different sectors will initiate industry alliances, enhancing sectoral collaboration.
Also, special service stations and application windows for patents and trademarks have been opened to promote intellectual property right protection and international cooperation.
The Global Supply Chain Promotion Report 2024, the flagship publication of the event along with the Global Supply Chain Connectivity Index and the Global Supply Chain Promotion Index, provides insights into the latest trends in global supply chain development, so that synergy can be fostered between innovation, industry, supply and value chains.
Running until November 30, the CISCE reflects the current state of global supply chains and sets the stage for future collaboration and innovation, ensuring the world remains connected and prosperous.
