Large Cruise Adora Magic City Delivered
The first China-developed large cruise ship, Adora Magic City, was officially delivered in Shanghai on November 4. The ship, 323.6 meters long, 37.2 meters wide and weighing 135,500 tons at full load, has 2,125 guest rooms that can accommodate up to 5,246 guests.
Sustainable Oilfield Platform Installed
The central platform of the Chengbei Oilfield was successfully installed in the Bohai Sea on November 4. The offshore platform, weighing nearly 15,000 tonnes and higher than a 10-story building, has high-voltage transmission equipment to access green electricity from the shore and support sustainable development of the oilfield.
Four Chinese Projects Designated on WHIS
Four more Chinese irrigation systems were listed on the World Heritage Irrigation Structures (WHIS) on November 4, bringing the total number of Chinese irrigation projects on the list to 34. These are the Qimenyan Irrigation System and Hongze Lake Irrigation System in east China, the Huoquan Spring Irrigation System in north China, and the Baini Weirs in central China.
Lighter and Smarter Carrier Rocket Launched
China launched a Long March 7A carrier rocket to deploy an experimental satellite from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan province on November 3. The carrier rocket used lightweight cable to reduce its weight and utilized an intelligent engine shutdown function to conserve fuel for the first time.
China Delivers Core Components for World's Largest "Artificial Sun"
The delivery ceremony for magnet-supporting products for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor was held in Guangzhou in south China on November 3. China has completed the last batch of magnet-supporting products for the world's largest "artificial sun," which generates clean, carbon-free energy in a way similar to the sun by emitting light and heat through fusion reactions.
