A group of foreign experts specializing science, mathematics, engineering and other fields have arrived in Kunming, Yunnan province, for a five-day discovery tour organized by the Beijing Overseas Talents Center (BOTC).

    The first stop was Yunnan University, which is celebrating its centenary. The foreign experts toured the beautiful campus and gained insights into the development of Chinese universities. They also held discussions with Chinese scholars in relevant fields to provide suggestions  for building a more well-developed academic and talent cultivation system.

    In a symposium held during the event, Mao Dongmin, deputy director of BOTC, noted that the tour is expected to promote international exchanges and cooperation in education, technology, and professionals. Liu Bo, vice president of Yunnan University, welcomed the foreign experts and expressed that the university will devote itself to facilitating international exchange and cooperation, embracing more international talents, and enhancing the development vitality to help realize a high-level opening-up of Yunnan University.

    Most of the participating foreign experts have been working in universities, research institutes, and companies in Beijing for many years, contributing significantly to boosting global scientific research cooperation and cultural exchanges.

    During their stay in Kunming, the foreign experts also visited Yunnan Provincial Museum and other scenic spots to gain a deeper understanding of Yunnan's profound cultural heritage and the historical inheritance of the integration and harmony of Chinese culture's diversity.
