  China Sends Atmospheric Environment Monitoring Satellite into Space

  Equipped with the world's first space-based LIDAR for detecting information aerosol and atmospheric carbon dioxide with high precision, an atmospheric environment monitoring satellite was launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi province, north China on April 16.

  FDI in Q1 Rises by 25.6%

  Reaching 379.87 billion RMB, China's actual use of foreign direct investment (FDI) went up by 25.6 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said on April 14. In particular, FDI in China's high-tech industries witnessed a soaring increase of 52.9 percent in the period.

  Life Origin on Earth Much Earlier than Previously Thought

  Scientists from China University of Geosciences and other universities analyzed a fist -sized rock from Quebec, Canada, discovering that microbial life already existed on Earth between 3.75 and 4.28 billion years ago, at least 300 million years earlier than previously expected. The study was published in Science Advances on April 13.

  World's First NHP Whole-body Cell Atlas Released

  Led by BGI Research in Shenzhen, research groups from many countries jointly published the world's first whole -body cell transcriptomic atlas of non-human primates (NHPs) in Nature on April 13. The NHP cell atlas could be used to study human physiology, disease and ageing.
